Stingray Healthcare, a European cancer care company, has completed its acquisition of MVZ Gamma Knife GmbH (“MVZ Gamma Knife”), the leading provider of brain radiosurgery treatments in Germany. The transaction is Stingray Healthcare’s first investment in Germany. Financial details have not been disclosed.
MVZ Gamma Knife operates two sites in the areas of Düsseldorf and Hannover. Since its foundation twenty years ago, MVZ Gamma Knife has successfully treated more than 10,000 patients and has established itself as one of the largest and most experienced operators of Gamma Knife®1 technology in Europe.
Stingray Healthcare is pleased to have partnered with MVZ Gamma Knife’s former shareholding doctors, ensuring continuity of high quality care for patients and referring physicians. Dr Gerhard Horstmann, a worldwide expert in radiosurgery who has led the operations for over fifteen years, will continue to lead the clinics.
Gamma Knife is a highly accurate non-invasive treatment for benign and malign tumours located in the head and neck, such as brain metastases, providing treatment in a single, painless, ambulatory session. As the incidence of brain metastases continues to increase, Stingray Healthcare is committed to further developing the capacity of MVZ Gamma Knife to treat more patients across Germany.
In addition to this investment in Gamma Knife, Stingray Healthcare is actively considering acquisition opportunities within traditional radiotherapy, with the aim of building a platform in Western Europe, initially focusing on Germany and France.
