Stingray Healthcare
Jacobs partnered with Stingray management in 2017 to establish the company and, over the course of its investment, developed it into a leading, state-of-the-art cancer care provider in Europe. Following a period of rapid growth in Germany and France through a combination of strategic acquisitions and organic growth, Stingray, at the time of exit, operated 11 outpatient facilities equipped with more than 20 linear accelerators and Gamma Knife machines, treating over 11,000 radiotherapy and radiosurgery patients annually. The company’s doctor-centric partnership model – characterised by meaningful clinic ownership and a focus on excellence in patient care – has proven to be highly successful in unlocking innovation, growth, and outstanding clinical outcomes.
Jacobs completed its sale of Stingray to Amethyst Healthcare, a portfolio company of Fremman Capital, in October 2025. The transaction created Europe’s largest independent cancer care platform, with the combined entity operating under the name Stingray Healthcare Group and led by former Stingray CEO Ralph Hefti. The transaction marked Jacobs’ third successful exit in the healthcare sector.
“For Stingray, Jacobs Capital has been more than an investor. From day one, Jacobs Capital played a pivotal role in the creation of Stingray and supported our growth with the mindset of true entrepreneurs. Jacobs Capital has been an exceptional sparring partner, challenging us, the management team, to strike the right balance between ambition and discipline.”
